Beauty And Culture—To Make You Feel Good

Ciao bella,

Beauty and feeling good are only a few steps away. Treat yourself in our fine city to de-stress, cultivate and beautify your mind and body. Now that summer is gone and the days are sunny with a lovely autumn breeze, “seize the day”—“carpe diem!” Relieve tensions and anxious feelings by taking the small pleasures of life and utilize them.

My Dad, a WW II veteran, who is about to turn 90 says “Just don’t let alot bother you, shrug it off. There are some things you can not control.” Anyway he says “the best is yet to come!”

So enjoy every day and follow this list!

Get a pedicure—the best yet is Danielle at Nurture Salon and Spa in South Boston. She uses a Pedi-resin bath to soak your feet (no Bacteria thrones there). Then you are reclined in a comfy chair with Moroccan inspired décor. My feet felt like “new baby” by the time she was done—not a care in the world!

Broaden and educate your mind and take a fabulous class at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. They have every class imaginable from Dante to cooking, applying your make up, dancing, photography and my favorite short story classes with the wonderful teacher Susan Glassman also exercise and music. He’ll be missed there as Executive Director. For more info www.ccae.org.

Find outdoor patio dining. Nothing like having that martini and chow al fresco! Some patios have the tall heaters to keep you comfy and cozy.

Join and/or visit the Boston Athenaeum—what a treat. It is the second oldest membership library in the US! Visitors can experience the beauty and peace of the 1st floor. There you will find the latest exhibit on George Pope Morris, an influential publisher and supporter of the arts. Maintaining their friendships he published the works of Edgar Allen Poe, Washington Irving and serialized the works of Charles Dickens. And think of all those books right at your fingertips! Plenty of beauty tips there! For more info www.bostonathenaeum.org.

Round up some good friends or your lover and take in a Boston Harbor Cruise. Find out if there is an island stop for a picnic and hike. Touring the city water wise and feeling the fresh ocean breeze is sure to renew you!

Well all, hope you enjoy these ideas and just do it!

Live , laugh and love today! Buona giornata and God bless the United States of America!
